(4) Appointing special committees and task forces including people from consortium members and nonmembers to assist with the consortium's tasks;
Four committees and groups are part of the Women’s History Consortium:
A. Women's History Consortium Partners:
These representatives from Consortium Partner institutions serve on a committee which
meets via telephone approximately bi-monthly. Their role has been to provide advice and
feedback on WHC initiatives and to provide expertise about the website content and
protocols. Members include:

B. Oral History Committee:
This committee reviewed and developed the goals and scope of the oral history project on
the International Women's Year Conference in Ellensburg in 1977.
Committee Members: Dr. Susan Armitage, Washington State University; Dr. Chris
Friday, Center for Pacific Northwest Studies, Western Washington University; Teresa
Contreras, Dorothy Young Sale, and Senator Pam Roach — all WHC Board Members;
Garry Schalliol, Director of Outreach Services, Washington State Historical Society;
David Nicandri, Director, Washington State Historical Society; and Anne Kilgannon,
Oral History Program Director, Office of the Secretary of State.
C. Grants Committee:
This committee reviewed the criteria for the grant awards and selected the awardees as
noted on page 6 of this report. This group made recommendations for further projects
associated with the $200,000.00 Supplemental Capital Budget allocation in 2006.
Committee Members: Corky Mattingly, Yakima County Auditor; Dr. Karen Blair,
Central Washington University; Dorothy Young Sale, and Janet Gallimore—all WHC
Board members; Garry Schalliol, Director of Outreach Services, Washington State
Historical Society; and David Nicandri, Director, Washington State Historical Society.
D. Fundraising Committee:
This group is developing plans for a fundraising event in March 2007 that would provide
seed money for the planned Washington Suffrage Centennial exhibit in 2009-10.
Committee Members: Senator Karen Fraser, Senator Pam Roach, Representative Mary
Lou Dickerson, and Representative Mary Skinner, Honorary Co-Chairs; Janet Gallimore,
Sue Lean, and Dorothy Young Sale—WHC Board members. Other members are being
recruited.
