Bernice Sapp, of Olympia, was one of the lead organizers for the suffrage cause in Thurston County. In 1909 she resigned as treasurer of the Olympia Suffrage Club to devote herself wholly to the poll list canvass of Thurston county voters. She urged all county canvassers to make carbon copies of the lists of names they established and to forward copies to WESA headqarters.
