Jane Cline, Junior Director, 1984-1986
Washington State Federation of Junior Women's Clubs
Mrs. Kenneth Cline, Jane, served as Director of Washington State Juniors while Martha Smith served as WSFWC President.
Jane selected "Accepting the Federation Challenge" for the theme of this administration.
While serving as State Assistant Director, Jane attended the GFWC 1994 Fall Board Meeting in Toronto, Canada. She was one of three women in this position at the meeting.
While much of the work of serving Federation is done in Washington State, there is also much travel for top state leaders. GFWC President Juanita Bryant decided that the summer seminars would be back-to-back. Jane left Seattle on September 6 to attend the Hazardous Waste Seminar in Chevy Chase, Maryland and returned home on September 18 after attending the IDS Seminar at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. and the GFWC Fall Board Meeting in the same city.
Other national meetings attended by Jane were: GFWC Conventions in Houston, Texas and Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as the GFWC Board Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The first state convention under Jane's leadership was at The Quay in Vancouver. The theme was "Women through the Ages," and celebrated the Junior Membership's 50th annual convention. Present at the opening dinner was Charlotte Gyllenberg, the first State President of Juniors, and B.J.Hash, the State Director during the 25th anniverary. Five other past State Junior Directors were in attendance.
The second state convention of this administration was in Spokane.
Jane represented the Washington State Junior Membership at the National Junior Board Meeting by serving on the National Junior Project Selection Committee. She also served the National Junior Executive Committee as Secretary Pro-tem and as Conference Parliamentary Advisor.
During the 1986-88 administration, Jane served as GFWC Junior Arts Chairman.
