Mrs. Richard Gosney began her administration with the theme "Service to Others is the Secret to Happiness."
The first Board Meeting was in Ellensburg at the Thunderbird Motel. Campaign procedures were revamped and the rules were included in the GUIDEPOST.
The Hyatt House in Seattle was the site of the 1971 convention with 252 attending, Kathie Paine, of Kennewick, was honored as Clubwoman of the Year. Advisor of the Year was Mrs. LeRoy Clauson of Bremerton.
The state re-districting committee presented their report and after it was discussed and then discussed again, the motion was tabled.
The Board Meeting in 1971 was at the Rivershore Inn in Richland.
Convention 1972 was in the Lilac City of Spokane with Ginny Winsemann, endorsed candidate for Director of Junior Clubs of GFWC as our special guest.
Judy Webb, Camas-Washougal, was selected as State Clubwoman of the Year.
Dr. Pat was again chosen as a state project for 1972-73 as were WARC and March of Dimes. As we became more aware of the environment, Conservation hours and money climbed.
Mrs. Kermit Haugen, GFWC President-elect, spoke on raising national dues.
