Tacoma was where the next Junior Director, Mrs. R.E. Hash, called home.
Convention 1959 was in Tacoma. Two hundred ninety-eight Juniors attended.
Extension Coordinators stated the 61 clubs reporting (71 clubs paid dues) had a total of 1,164 members at the beginning of the year. There was a loss of 182 members and a gain of 322, thus making a total of 1,305 Juniors.
Contributions to the Blind were $1,250.
The state Youth and Welfare project for 1959-60 was the Maple Lane Pool Fund.
The National Junior Project, "Medical Kits for the Philippines," was supported by $110, which bought three kits. Two hundred and fifty pounds of discarded nylons were sent to Japanese war widows and 265,000 stamps for Norwegian Boy Scouts were collected.
$2,000 was collected for the Maple Lane Pool and in November excavation was started.
By May 1960, 67 clubs paid dues on 1,346 members. At the 1960 convention Shirley Moser of Omak took top honors as State Clubwoman of the Year.
Conservation Workshop was a tri-state meeting at Lake Chatcolet in Idaho.
