Jeanette Jester, Junior Director, 1986-1988, Washington State Federation of Women's Clubs.

Jeanette Jester, of Camas, was elected to serve as Director of Junior Clubs for Washington State for 19861988. She selected "A Rainbow of Community Involvement as the theme.

During this administration, Washington State celebrated its centennial. Linda Bird, of Tacoma. proposed a State Centennial Quilt Contest open to anyone followed by a traveling quilt exhibit. WSFWC was asked and agreed to assist with this large project. This was a very successful event and was a great way to promote the organization to the public.

An ad-hoc committee was formed to review Junior bylaws, standing rules, committees, awards and the structural needs of the organization. This resulted in some changes.

The 1986 Board Meeting, "You are the Core" was in Yakima.

The 52nd annual convention was in Tacoma with the theme "Rainbows Around the World." Sherry Kaley of Tennessee, GFWC Director of Junior Clubs, was the guest at this meeting. Jodi Donoghue, a member of Oroville Juniors, was named Clubwoman of the Year.

A Memorial Service took place for Marion Edwards, who served as President of the Washington State Juniors from 1948-50.

A speaker from the Tacoma Zoo spoke on the Zoo's role in preserving endangered species. This was arranged to educate members on the GFWC President's Special Project - Endangered Species.

The Juniors met in Wenatchee for a board meeting in the fall of 1987. The theme was "Through the Looking Glass."

The second convention of this administration convened in Yakima. Cyndy Rohn, Oroville Junior, was named Clubwoman of the Year. The theme for the 53rd convention was "Surfs Up - Catch the Wave."

During this administration, the Guidepost and Junior Memo went to all members.

Kathy Estep, Past President of WSFWC, served as Advisor to the Juniors.

Jeanette continued her service to Federation by serving on the GFWC Board as Junior Chairman of the Home Life Department. She also served as WSFWC Treasurer during the 1994-96 administration.
