"It's Up to Us" was the theme picked by Mrs. Kenneth Lohman, Washington State Junior Director. A new chairman was added - National Projects Chairman. Kathy Estep was Advisor to the Juniors.
Mid-Year Board 1972 was in Yakima with 148 attending.
Bicentennial plates were sold exclusively by GFWC (one each year for four years) and each club was urged to appoint a Bicentennial Chairman.
Convention 1973 convened in the capital city of Olympia, with the highlight being a tour of the Governor's Mansion and tea with Mrs. Dan Evans, the Governor's wife.
Shirley Phipps, of Spokane, was named State Clubwoman of the Year.
King County Juniors presented a resolution urging all Washington State Juniors to distribute Red Ball Stickers for fire safety. Dr. Pat was voted as a state project and it was proposed we submit Kontum for a National Project.
Iris announced that a Freedom Tree was planted'in honor of all returnees of the Viet Nam War at the Capitol Grounds in Olympia.
At the 1974 convention at the Hanford House in Richland, Rosalie Frostad of Walla Walla was named State Clubwoman of the Year. The Outstanding State Chairman Award was presented to Nancy Fairbanks. A Junior Chorus performed under the direction of Micki Foos.
Iris served on the GFWC level as Junior Home Life Chairman during the 1974-76 administration.
