Auburn. Attended Ellensburg IWY and went to Houston IWY as a reporter for the Auburn Globe. Church of the Latter Day Saints, Republican party, homemaker (married with five children). Elected to Washington State Senate in 1990, where she has won subsequent elections and continues to serve. Prior to her first election, she was a KIRO Weekend Radio Talk Show host and legislative aid to former Senator and King County Council member Kent Pullen for 16 years. Supporter and founding board member of the Women’s History Consortium. Anti-ERA.
